We have partnered exclusively with a leading developer of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a proven track record of delivering large-scale renewable energy projects across the eastern seaboard of Australia. Their focus is on developing innovative and sustainable energy solutions that contribute to Australia's transition to a low-carbon future. As part of continued growth, we are now supporting them in the search for an experienced Project Director to lead and oversee the successful delivery of flagship projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects from inception through to completion
  • Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and external consultants, ensuring that project milestones are met on time and within budget
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, investors, landowners, and local communities
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulatory, environmental, and safety standards
  • Mitigate risks and troubleshoot any technical, financial, or logistical challenges that may arise during project development and execution
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including development, finance, and legal, to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage relationships with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers
  • Provide regular updates and detailed reports to senior leadership, including project status, timelines, budgets, and risk assessments
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for innovation, cost savings, and efficiency in project execution
  • Ensure all projects align with the company's sustainability and environmental goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on utility-scale solar PV and battery storage projects
  • Proven track record of delivering large, complex infrastructure projects on time and within budget
  • In-depth knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy development, including grid connection, permitting, and construction
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading large, multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to handle multiple large-scale projects concurrently while maintaining attention to detail and quality
  • Deep understanding of the Australian energy market, regulatory landscape, and grid connection processes
  • Full working rights in Australia and willingness to travel across the eastern seaboard as required
