Senior Engineer - C&I Solar

We are working with a leading EPC company specialising in delivering medium to large scale solar photovoltaic (PV) solutions to the commercial and industrial sectors. Specialising in designing, constructing, and managing high-performance renewable energy projects, they are committed to accelerating the transition to clean energy. We are now supporting them in the search for an experienced Senior PV Engineer with SAA/CEC design accreditation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and engineering of large-scale commercial and industrial PV systems
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant Standards Australia (SAA) and Clean Energy Council (CEC) guidelines and regulations
• Conduct detailed electrical and mechanical design, including system layout, single-line diagrams, and connection to grid networks
• Perform system yield analysis, energy simulations, and ROI calculations
• Oversee and manage the installation process, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to deliver optimal solutions
• Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, specifications, and bill of materials (BOM)
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical support across projects
• Conduct site assessments, reviewing site conditions, and identifying technical challenges and opportunities
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, WHS regulations, and environmental considerations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field
• SAA and CEC design accreditation is mandatory
• 5+ years of experience in PV design, specifically within the commercial and industrial sectors
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and grid connection requirements
• Proficiency in PV design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope)
• RPEQ highly desirable
• Experience with inverter selection, battery storage integration, and electrical balance of system (BOS)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and lead project design from conception to execution
• Full Australian working rights and a valid driver’s license
